Funky funky Marvin Gaye -- and a great collection that takes a look at a sometime-neglected side of his genius! The set brings together 15 tracks from Marvin's 70s years at Motown -- and as you might guess from the title, it goes for the heavier tunes from the time -- the numbers in which Marvin ties his amazingly soulful vocals to some really funky rhythms! There's a few familiar tracks on the set, but even better are the lesser-remembered numbers -- including a few rare ones, like the 45-only "You're The Man (parts 1 & 2)", the unreleased "Ego Tripping Out", the 1972 mix of "This World Is Rated X", or the full mix of the studio jam "Checking Out"! Other tracks include "After The Dance", "A Funky Space Reincarnation", "Funk Me", "Got To Give It Up (part 1)", "T Plays It Cool", "Love Party", "Time To Get It Together", and "Since I Had You". the best age of this type music, the funk is one of that music style that you hear one song, and you can hear all then, and if you fused with other rhythm like rock, oh men!
